Low stock
The Webster OSV38 BIO Oil Safety Valve is a vacuum‑operated safety device designed to protect oil‑fired heating systems from fuel spills, siphoning, and excessive inlet pressure. Installed close to the burner, the OSV38 automatically allows oil flow only when a sustained vacuum is created by the burner fuel pump, and immediately shuts off fuel if a leak, line break, or loss of vacuum occurs.
By isolating the burner fuel unit from upstream pressure sources—such as supply pumps or overhead tanks—the OSV38 reduces stress on fuel pump seals and helps prevent damage caused by excessive inlet pressure. When properly installed, it also supports NFPA compliance, ensuring burner inlet pressure does not exceed 3 PSI.
The OSV38 BIO is engineered for modern fuel applications and is UL listed for biofuel use, making it compatible with B20–B100 biodiesel, as well as No. 1 and No. 2 fuel oil, kerosene, diesel, and waste oil. Featuring 3/8" NPTF ports, a maximum inlet pressure of 60 PSI, and a flow capacity up to 55 GPH, it is well suited for residential and light commercial oil‑burner installations. The valve can be mounted in any orientation, with cover‑down installation recommended to minimize contamination.
Trusted by HVAC professionals, the Webster OSV38 BIO provides dependable automatic shut‑off protection and long‑term safety for oil heating systems.
